Act 1: Josiah Frias

Josiah Frias of Lompoc, California, has been playing classical guitar since the age of ten (2010). Because of his competitive nature, love for the instrument, and fierce individuality, he quickly gravitated towards the more difficult pieces of the guitar repertoire. He has played in masterclasses for guitarists David Leisner, Ana Vidovic, and in 2017 (at the La Guitarra festival in San Luis Obispo) for the renowned Christopher Parkening. Shortly after this class, maestro Parkening invited Josiah to study under him at Pepperdine University, where Josiah now majors in guitar and music composition Since starting at Pepperdine, he has been connecting with the Los Angeles guitar community, particularly through his friendship with Elite Guitarist’s Tavi Jinariu. Josiah's other interests include hiking, philosophy, and the game of Go, at which he earned the rank of 3 Dan. Josiah is also a committed Christian who seeks to glorify God through his music.



Act 2: Isaac Engel

A young artist from Salem, Oregon, Isaac began studying guitar with William Jenks in August 2015, and since then he has also participated in masterclasses with guitarists such as Sharon Isbin, Pablo Villegas, and Los Romeros. In 2017 he competed in the GFA Youth competition, and heachieved semifinalist in the NW Guitar Festival Youth competition in both 2017 and 2018. He has performed in concerts as a member of the Marylhurst Guitar Ensemble, and gave his solo debut concert to friends and family the night before the Great American Eclipse of 2017. Isaac will be attending Corban University in Salem as a sophomore this year to study music performance and business administration.





Act 3: Keaton Woodburn

Keaton has been playing guitar around Portland, LA and even Mexico. He was a finalist in the Pacific Northwest Guitar Competition Youth Competition in 2017 and 2018. Keaton played Guitar 1 for two years in the Sherwood High School Jazz Band and won multiple soloist awards at Jazz competitions. Keaton has also participated in various masterclasses with world-renowned guitarists such as Pablo Sainz Villegas, Lily Afshar, Antigoni Goni, Eliot Fisk, The Romeros and Christopher Parkening. Keaton studied the guitar with William Jenks from 2015-2018 and is currently studying with Christopher Parkening at Pepperdine University as a Sophomore.



Act 4: Travis Johnson

Travis is a classically trained guitarist from Portland, Oregon. After studying with private instructors in Oregon and Washington, he received degrees in music performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (2015) and The University of Texas at Austin (2017). Travis teaches that music is a language that a can be learned through careful listening and responding by exercising the technical demands of the instrument. He enjoys sharing music with a variety of audiences by performing at open-mics, schools, recitals, and through his live-stream practice sessions.
